A P21 procured refurbishment with new build extension, 12 bed PICU Mental Health Hospital on site of the existing Carleton Clinic.

The mechanical design solution incorporates high efficiency gas fired boilers and water heaters integrated with under floor heating and on-demand extract ventilation. Due to the Trust’s requirement with regards to off ward maintenance, full service walkways above all patient areas with access to all ventilation dampers, heating and domestic valves, WC cisterns, BMS panels distribution boards, wiring etc was proposed. The electrical design incorporated fully sub-metered LV installation and energy efficient lighting systems incorporating daylight dimming control and presence detectors. The building is to be awarded a BREEAM excellent rating.
