The works comprised of a full internal fit out of an existing building shell, with CAD21 providing full MEP design duties from RIBA 2 through to RIBA 6 on a design and build procurement route.

The project involved creation of a new pharmaceutical cleanroom facility comprising 8No. Biosafety Level 2 Containment type Grade C clean rooms suites and included a number of supporting Biosafety Level 2 laboratory areas to support viral-vector process and containment

Incorporating a new central energy centre, UPS to laboratory areas, and full building generator back up. The internal works were of a high specification and technical fit-out with 31 HVAC zones being designed to aid Oxford Biomedica in meeting expected long term demand for its advanced therapy medical products.

The Laboratory areas also included a number of Class 2 Microbiological safety cabinets, and frequent room sterilisation with Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide introduced automatically through the HVAC systems
