The Aldi store at Willerby in Hull was the first in the UK to derive all required heating energy from the refrigeration plant, utilising a mixture of renewable air source heat pump and heat recovery technology.
The system was installed in 2008 and in the first 18 months saved 170,000 kWh of gas consumption. CAD21 worked in conjunction with Aldi Stores refrigeration specialist to design and implement the Heat Recovery system to reduce the overall energy consumption and carbon footprint of the store. |
