CAD 21 - Key People

Tony Grainger – Managing Director
Our Managing Director is Tony Grainger. C.Eng.,B.Sc.,F.C.I.B.S.E.,M.Inst.E. M.I.H.E.E.M a Chartered Engineer who graduated in 1983 with a Building Services Degree (with Commendation) and is a Corporate Member of both the Institute of Building Services Engineers, The Chartered Energy Institute and the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management.

Tony has been employed in the Building Services design industry since October 1977 and has gained a wealth of design experience covering all types of buildings including healthcare, education commercial, industrial and leisure.

Adrian Gray – Electrical Director
Adrian Gray I.Eng.,A.C.I.B.S.E.,M.I.I.E. (Director) Adrian is registered as an Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council and is registered as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers. Adrian has been involved in Electrical Building Services design since September 1989 and has a vast knowledge of lighting and electrical systems including specialist healthcare systems.

Peter Ather – Mechanical Director (Tyneside Office)
Peter Ather C Eng., B.Eng. (Hon’s), M.C.I.B.S.E, M.I.H.E.E.M (Director) Peter is a member of C.I.B.S.E. and the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management. Peter has been involved in Mechanical Building Services design since September 1987 and has accumulated a specialist knowledge of hospital engineering design.

Garry Charlton - Mechanical Director (Teesside Office)
Garry Charlton C Eng., B.Eng. (Hon’s), M.C.I.B.S.E,(Director) Garry is based at and runs our Teesside office. He is a member of C.I.B.S.E. and has been involved in Building Services Design since September 1995. Garry has vast experience in the Building Services Design of a wide range of projects including museum buildings, historic premises, healthcare projects, commercial office developments, leisure facilities, industrial buildings, Railtrack and University establishments.

Gavin Loy – Associate (Yorkshire Office)
Gavin Loy C Eng., MSc., B.Eng (Hons.), M.C.I.B.S.E. (Associate). Gavin has been involved in Mechanical Building Services design since September 1994 and has developed a sound knowledge of mechanical building services design including extensive experience in the commercial, Retail, education and healthcare sectors. Gavin also spent 5 years heading up a consultancy office in Dubai gaining valuable experience in large scale project design.

Mark Sanders – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Mark Sanders B.Eng (Hons.), Grad .C.I.B.S.E. (Mechanical Engineer). Mark has been involved in Mechanical Building Services design since September 1994 and has developed a sound knowledge of mechanical building services design including extensive experience in the education and healthcare sectors.

Tony Hill– Senior Electrical Engineer 
Tony Hill C Eng., B.Eng. (Hons),  M.I.E.T. (Chartered Electrical Engineer). Tony heads up the electrical department in our Teesside office and has worked in electrical contracting and consultancy for more than 15 years. He has gained vast experience of electrical engineering design in the Petro-chemical, rail, Defence, Healthcare, Education, Commercial and Data centre sectors. his experience extends to detailed design of refurbishment and new build projects, feasibility studies, condition surveys, maintenance strategies, energy surveys, lifecycle costing models, site supervision and support.

Martin McKay – Senior Electrical Engineer 
Martin McKay B.Eng. (Hons),  M.C.I.B.S.E, (Electrical Engineer). Martin is based in our Teesside office and has been involved in the industry since 1997. He has gained vast experience of electrical engineering design in the Education, Healthcare, Electrical Infrastructure and Leisure sectors.

Mark Keighery – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Mark Keighery B.Eng. (Hons), M.C.I.B.S.E. – (Senior Mechanical Engineer). Mark is an experienced mechanical engineer has recently joined the company to assist with our expanding workload in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Mark is acredited as a "Competent Person" under the BRE Certification scheme for Building CO2 emission rate calculation iSBEM and is also accredited and registered to carry out Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's).

Henry Sheath – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Henry Sheath B.Eng (Hons.), A.C.I.B.S.E. (Mechanical Engineer). Henry has been involved in Mechanical Building Services design since September 1996 and has developed a sound knowledge of mechanical building services design including extensive experience in the education and healthcare sectors.

Darren McGurk – Senior Electrical Engineer
Darren McGurk B.Eng (Hons.) M.I.E.T. (Senior Electrical Engineer) Darren graduated in June 2001 and has since gained experience in Electrical Engineering in the Healtcare and Education sectors and has specialist knowledge of communications and electronics.

Mark Elliott – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Mark Elliott I.Eng.,A.C.I.B.S.E.,M.I.H.M.E.E.M. (Senior Mechanical Engineer) Mark is registered as an Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Member of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management. Mark has been involved in Mechanical Building Services design since October 1982.

Peter Wilson – Mechanical Engineer
Peter Wilson B.Eng. (Hons), (Mechanical Engineer) Peter graduated in June 2002 and has since gained experience of Mechanical Engineering Design in the commercial and Retail sectors and has specialist knowledge of contractural procedures.

Stuart Wood – Electrical Engineer
Stuart Wood M.I.E.T., A.M.I.E.E.M. (Electrical Engineer) Stuart is a Member of the I.E.T., Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management and a student member of C.I.B.S.E and has a City & Guilds Level 3 Wiring Regulations qualification. Stuart has a wide knowledge of Electrical building services with experience on a variety of building projects. stuart is also studying for his BSc (Hons) in Engineering.

Peter Fish – Electrical Engineer
Peter Fish (Electrical Engineer) Peter has an HNC in Electrical Engineering and has developed a sound knowledge of building services design having gained hands on experience since 2000 developing a specialist knowlege of the retail sector.

Richart Watson – Mechanical Engineer
Peter Watson B.Eng. (Hons), (Mechanical Engineer) Richard is a graduate member of C.I.B.S.E. and since graduation has gained experience of Mechanical Engineering Design in the Commercial, Hotel, Leisure and Education sectors Richard is also accredited as a "Competent Person" under the BRE Certification scheme for office developments.

Michael Philipson – Mechanical Engineer Undergraduate
Michael Philipson (Mechanical Engineer undergraduate) Michael has developed a good knowledge of mechanical engineering design to HND standard and is now completing a degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Neil Crumbie – Electrical Engineer undergraduate
Neil Crumbie (Electrical Engineer undergraduate) Neil has a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering and has developed a good knowledge of electrical engineering especially in the commercial and Education sectors. Neil is now completing a degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Jonathan Aston – Mechanical Engineer                                                                                                                                        Jonathan Aston B.Eng. (Hons), (Mechanical Engineer) Jonathan has developed a good knowledge of mechanical engineering design to Degree standard and has completed the Building Services degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Jamie Darragh – Electrical Engineer undergraduate
Jamie Darragh (Electrical Engineer undergraduate) Jamie is continuing to exten his knowledge of electrical engineering design whilst working through the degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Anthony Burke – Mechanical Engineer
Anthony Burke B.Eng. (Hons), Grad C.I.B.S.E. (Mechanical Engineer) Anthony is a student member of C.I.B.S.E. and since graduation has gained experience of mechanical engineering design in the Healthcare and Education sectors and is continuing his hands on training as a key member of the Newcastle mechanical design team.

Liam Farrell – Electrical Engineer undergraduate
Liam Farrell (Electrical Engineer undergraduate) Liam has developed a good knowledge of electrical engineering design to HND standard and has commence a Building Services degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Andrew Elliott – Electrical Engineer undergraduate
Andrew Elliott (Electrical Engineer undergraduate) Andrew has developed a good knowledge of electrical engineering design to HND standard and is working through a Building Services foundation degree course sponsored by CAD21.

Andrew McBride – Electrical Engineer undergraduate

Shaun Lane– Mechanical Engineer undergraduate
